New, improved, still dairy free pie crust!
The Flora vegan butter is of course dairy free and egg free, but all gluten free and soy free too. The ingredients of the Flora butter is palm kernel and palm oil, water, sunflower oil, pea protein, sunflower lecithin, lactic acid, natural flavor, annatto, and vitamin A palmitate.
The butter pies are more tender than the oil crusts, and a bit flakier too. The label is a bit longer because of the "butter" but we think the improved flavor and texture is worth it.
The pie crust bakes the same as the oil crusts, but is a little easier to work with because it doesn't brown as quickly.
The crusts can be blind baked or docked before baking. Bake the crusts at 350F (about 180 C) or higher.
